Only Historical Storms Yesterday in Central PA
UPDATE: Links to photos I took area below. State College, Pennsylvania, home of AccuWeather HQ [Google Map], completely avoided getting thunderstorms yesterday, despite being in a solid Slight Risk and not far from a Moderate Risk. It was a disappointing day for local storm chasers. Here are a link to my some photos that I took, including a couple of nice panoramas with anvil clouds and a slow-mo video of several lightning strikes. For a storm not coming withing 50 miles of my house, not bad I guess.
You can also check out pictures from local storm chaser Ron "R-Factor" Shawley who got a small storm down in Johnstown.
Yesterday was especially disappointing for storm enthusiasts given the day's history, which you can read more about in last year's blog entry. (Also don't miss my explanation of what caused the Johnstown Floods) written last year.
Of course, the rest of the public was treated to a nice (albeit warm, humid, and windy) Saturday.
