Blog reader and possibly officemate Gregg points out today that scientists at Duke University have successfully produced a cloaking device* -- well, kind of. It only cloaked microwaves in two dimensions, but all eggheads interviewed by the Associated Press seemed upbeat that a cloaking device for visible light -- and maybe even one for acoustic waves (read: earthquakes) wouldn't be far behind.
