O.T.: Pigs Flew, Now Huskies Do Too
There have been a lot of changes for my family in the last month. After pigs learned to fly and we moved into our new house (and our new community), we've taken up such past-times as "landscaping", "watering the lawn", and "walking."
Our petscape has changed rapidly too. A month ago, we owned two cats, a rabbit and a guinea pig, but yesterday, we were down to one cat. What gives? Well, my wife decided last month that it was time to get a dog. At that point, we decided to cut down on the number of animals in our house. Two were given away -- Midnight the Rabbit went to a fellow 4-H'er; Calico the Guinea Pig went to a friend of my wife's at work.
An unexpected turn happened last week when our cat Petey, who was 19 years old and had not been healthy for some time, had to be put to sleep last week due to kidney and thyroid problems.
But then last night at 10:00 at the University Park Airport, we met Maya, our new husky purchased from Shallow Creek Huskies. The first photos we took when she got home are shown below.
Our remaining cat, Star, was a little suspicious of Maya's arrival:
But I'm sure they'll be good friends soon.
