O.T.: Panic Time, Bird Flu, Y2K Again?

In today's time-to-panic news... this from ABC:

My take: This reminds me of warnings before The Year 2000 rolled around (read my previous entry on Y2K). Bird flu is serious stuff, but I'm not sure I'm ready to start stockpiling again. I'm not good at grocery logistics and routinely run out of milk and canned foods as it is! Also, I'm not following the power and water outage, am I missing something? If so, please enlighten me.
