O.T.: Losing One of Our Own
Today is Sue Payne's last day at AccuWeather. She has worked here as long as I have (about 8 years), starting out as an Editor, then as an Operational Shift Manager, then the Project Manager for the Internet Department.
This weekend, after quitting their jobs and selling their worldly possessions, she and her husband Phil are becoming "Full-Time RV'ers" which means that they will be travelling the nation for the rest of their lives.
Why?click here for a diatribe by her husband Phil. I am somewhat envious -- they are in effect taking the scenic route -- permanently.
They will be travelling with their Pug dog and two cats. Their first stop will be South Dakota, the state they have chosen for residence. After that, they'll be going further south for the winter. Sue plans to chronicle their journeys on her website, WorldOfPayne.com.
They'll have plenty of company. It's estimated that there are 2.8 million full-time RV'ers in the United States.
