O.T.: Gas Prices Again
I'm posting this a little late... I took the photo below at our local gas station on Wednesday morning. I have been meaning to post since then. Notice that these prices are considerably higher than when I posted after Hurricane Katrina last year.
At that time, everybody was kind of freaking out (see this blog entry). But this year, we've gotten used to prices over $2.00 per gallon, so there hasn't been a lot of outrage yet -- although this weekend watching the news I see that it has finally caught on and there is quite a bit of talk about the high prices, including Congress. That's because oil hit a new high of $74/barrel on Friday.
My point - there's no hurricanes out there folks, so if you think prices are high now just wait until they come this summer. Gas will be over what it was at its peak last year (locally $3.59 for Premium, see this blog entry).
