O.T.: An Awesome Y2K7 Story
I know, I know, I said I'd be quiet about Y2K7 (computers and humans reacting badly to the Daylight Savings Time date change this Spring). But stay with me for one more story. This one's a doozy.
Apparently near Pittsburgh earlier this month, a high school student was jailed after Caller ID Logs showed that he called in a bomb threat. The only problem -- the logs were off by an hour. Twelve sad days later, the boy was released. Said the principal: "All the time stamps were screwed up. Some did (change over), some didn't. Everyone's system had to be set manually. There were a lot of clocks involved."
Thanks to Slashdot for the tip. Their original link to a news story is dead, so here's a new one.
