Northeast Worries About Flooding
What do you get when you have one to three inches of rain...
... a snowpack equivalent to between 1 and 4 inches...
and temperatures in the 50s and 60s?
Flooding, probably. Flood watches have been issued across the Northeast (shown in green below). My biggest area of concern is western Pennsylvania, which is in the target for the 3 inches of rain (according to the NMM model map above), has significant snowpack, and which will see those warm temperatures.
Ohio is also a possible issue - note that rivers and streams are high there, while in Pennsylvania they are not. The three inches of rain itself, if it happens, could pose a significant threat there.
