Northeast Winter Storm Update
Monday's winter storm is moving through the Northeast, dropping a dangerous mix of frozen precipitation across Pennsylvania and snow in interior New England.
At 7 a.m., here in State College, PA, in the central part of the state, it looks like about an inch of sleet and freezing rain so far. Local schools are closed and unpaved surfaces have about an inch of snow and ice making things slick. But temperatures are already inching above freezing here. Reports from eastern Pennsylvania indicate several inches of snow and sleet.
New York City reported mixed precipitation overnight but this morning looks wet on the cams, and the official weather station there is reporting heavy rain.
Boston is now in the snow area per the cams and could receive several inches today.
