Northeast, Mid-Atlantic Snow Reports
"I Want to Know What Love Is" by Foreigner just came on XM8, the XM Radio 80's channel (more about me and music). When I hear this song I am transported back to the cold North Carolina mountains in 1984, listening to the FM radio, hoping for school closings as snow falls outside and my father builds a fire in the wood-stove.
Yes, folks, that's snow again on The J-CAM -- about 2 inches of unexpected (as of the 5pm AccuWeather.com forecast anyway) snow fell overnight, on the heels of 0.5 inches of snow that fell during the afternoon, making this our second biggest snowstorm of the season. I cranked up the ol' snowblower once again to clear our double driveway, ensuring that I'd be here fairly early -- 7:15 right now.
Here are some of the latest reports from the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, as reported by The NWS [JessePedia] and our SnowMatrix. Reports have been slow to come in so far this morning so this list will be updated through noon.Help me out by telling me how much snow you have via the SnowMatrix.

It is still snowing in Boston, Massachusetts at this hour. The highest amount from Long Island that I've seen so far was 2.8" at Garden City South. If that's it, then the NWS's Heavy Snow Warning from last night seems unwarranted. There has been a lot of forecast mayhem during the last 24 hours; some people in the Northeast are saying that this snow was "unexpected" and we'll talk more about that later today.
