North Dakota Flood Webcams Before & After
The USGS has put a couple of really interesting resources out there in regards to the Fargo, North Dakota floods. They have webcams setup at Fargo and Grand Forks, and have archived them daily. I pulled some pictures and here are a couple of incredible comparisons (last week's pictures are shown below; move your mouse over the pictures to see today's shots):
You can also see an animation of the Fargo cam on their site. Another neat resource is this graph of yearly major floods from 1997 to 2010.
Note that each year it seems to be getting earlier, though the chart is not yearly and we're only looking at 4 floods, it's interesting nonetheless. As of today, the Red River at Fargo is forecast to crest at 38 feet, which is 2.8 feet short of the record set last year:
