NorEaster Rocks Coast, Mountains
The late-Spring Nor'easter yesterday rocked the mountains and the coast, with winds estimated at 130 mph at Mount Mitchell, North Carolina, and measured at 78 mph on the New Jersey coast. Watch this video of the winds on the top of Grandfather (which was evacuated and closed to the public) from WSOC-TV (thanks blog reader William for the link).
Coastal and street flooding was also rampant in the Northeast, check out AccuWeather.com News Director Steve Penstone's report below.

Joe Bastardi reported that "there has been a report of a wind gust to 76 mph at Sea Isle City, N.J." but I couldn't find the source for that gust as of this writing. Coastal station LWSD gusted to near 60 knots (69 mph), as did BRND in the Delaware Bay. A number of other coastal stations gusted to near 55 knots (graphs archived here).
The HPC issued a statement listing these as the top rainfall totals from the storm:
NORTH BEACH, MD: 7.07"
ALEXANDRIA, VA: 6.84"
MARLTON, MD: 6.30"
NOAA's rainfall map looked like this:
