New York City Tornado Scare

ORIGINAL ENTRY: New York City residents got a scare this evening when a Tornado Warning was issued for the city and a severe thunderstorm grazed northern Long Island. Here are a few radar images and a screenshot of Watches & Warnings during the event; you can also check out a visible satellite animation here.
The NWS said that a trained tornado spotter one mile south of Flushing, NY reported "A FUNNEL CLOUD / POSSIBLE SMALL ROPE" but so far no photos have surfaced. Hail to 3/4" in diameter and downed trees/power lines were also reported in Queens County. (RELATED NEWS: Two tornadoes were confirmed in western New York state on Saturday).
Thunderstorms continued to move through the area at 10 PM.
