New Video From Pacific NW Windstorm
Here is some raw video from our affiliates of the Pacific Northwest Windstorm from earlier this week (no audio):
KPTV-TV: Gusty winds blew into Oregon Monday morning (11/12), knocking down trees and
cutting power to homes and businesses. VIDEO: The wind blowing through the grass on the coast. Various people walking through the wind as it blows the dirt and grass around them. A house where the frame has been thrown to the ground. An electrical cord laying in a puddle of water then pan over to an overturned trash barrel. A large tree branch that has landed in the middle of the street.
KOMO-TV: A second windstorm of the season rolled through Western Washington Monday, bringing a dose of heavy rain and very gusty winds to a large portion of the region. While the main Puget Sound area was mostly spared the worst, the coast and Northwestern Interior sections of the state had the strongest winds since the December 2006 windstorm. Clallam Bay reported a gust to 92 mph, while Bellingham had an official gust to 74 mph, and an unofficial gust of 97 mph from a trained spotter six miles northeast of the city (that might have been a localized effect.) Anacortes recorded a gust to 73 mph, while on the coast, wind gusts were between 70 and 79 mph, including 71 mph at Hoquiam. More than 80,000 people had lost power by midday.
KLXY-TV: Monday's 100 mile per hour winds destroyed at least one home in Spokane Valley. Darrell Tiner opened his front door yesterday to find his home filled with branches and limbs. A tree crashed through the roof of his manufactured home during the storm. It fell with such force that it also went through the floor breaking a pipe.
