New Cool Blog Features, Halloween
OK folks, you know that I like to make my blog your home for all weather-related news. Today, I've launched a couple of new things over in my "right rail" (as the designers here call it). If you don't know what I'm talking about, both are shown below.
First, check out the new J's Breaking Weather News section at right. This has been redone to allow images. KEEP AN EYE ON THIS AREA because it will tell you things that are NOT covered in the normal blog entries.
Things that I will be posting there include...
1. Links that I'd like you to see, but don't have time to write a blog entry about. 2. Neat or funny weather-related photos or maps 3. Followups or updates to previous blog entries 4. Photos, Videos, or important blogs from AccuWeather.com or elsewhere 5. Things I'm not "allowed" to write about in my blog :) 6. Personal observations, things that might be seen on the J-SHOW
This "microblogging" is done through Tumblr and you can also follow WeatherMatrix on Tumblr if you are subscribed to their service (if not, you can always see it to your right). It reads in my Twitter feed, where I do quick short weather updates. You'll note that I am including the State College, PA weather feed from Tumblr and/or Twitter as well, which I recently blogged about.
I'm really excited about this area because it will enable me to hit you with quick weather knowledge and personal observations, without clogging up the main blog entries. Send me any interesting links that you find, they may end up in there!
Secondly, I've made some improvements to the Weather Video player at right. I will occasionally swap out the Raw Weather News Videos with Photo Gallery Weather Snapshots and my own Blog Videos. But now, you have access to larger versions of all three by clicking the links above the player (this goes for you Premium & Pro members as well). The Raw Video player now included "Weather Snapshots" because often are professional camera folks beat me to the good video.
So, what are you doing for Halloween? Leave me a Comment below. I'll be giving out candy at my house tonight, as usual. Here in the Northeast, it's going to be great weather for it. Here are a link to a couple of threads on the AccuWeather.com Forums that you may want to participate in.
