Nearly 70 Killed in India Storms
Nearly 70 people were killed and over 1,500 houses were destroyed in Maharashtra (where?) and Madhya Pradesh (where?), during heavy storms in central India this week.
NASA's TRMM Satellite indicated that over 175 mm (6.88 inches) of rain had fallen in the past 24-hours in central India.
This article goes on to say that the deaths in Madhya Pradesh were attributed to heavy rain, hail and lightning. Crops and livestock were also heavily damaged, and two dozen peacocks were killed by a hailstorm in the Bhorana village of Shivpuri district.
Another article blames lightning and heavy rain on the 20 deaths in Maharashtra.
