Near Hurricane Force, Snow Tops 1 Foot
One more update at 9 PM Eastern... AccuWeather.com Professional's Joe Bastardi [BIO] (PRO) spied a ship report of near-hurricane force sustained winds among other gems. A foot of snow has now been officially reported in Vermont. Power outages from the snow, flooded parking lots and docks under water have been reported to the NWS in Boston, MA. RadarPlus shot of the storm at right. Joe says in his blog:
The lowest pressure I could find from buoys or coastal stations was 28.99" at 44009 off the coast of Delaware. Winds are still gusting near, but not over 50 knots at these stations, as far as I can tell. Water levels are certainly running above normal, at The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel [JessePedia], and surrounding beaches, on the order of 2 feet or so above the norm (LIVE GRAPH | ARCHIVED).
