More Rain Floods New York, NJ
The New York Times asks this morning:
"Can it really rain this much?"
The answer is yes, and it's going to keep on coming today. Relief should begin on Saturday.
Over 10 inches of rain has fallen on Long Island in the last few days (see hi-res zoom courtesy AccuWeather.com RadarPlus).
WNBC reports on evacuations, dam inspections, and power outages in New York, Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut, and has another round of photos.
USAToday reports that at least 10 people have died as a result of the week-long flooding.
Many streamlevels are at record for this time of year (see above), and several river gauges are showing major flooding, includint the Passaic River at Little Falls (shown below), the Passaic at Pine Brook and the Ramapo River at Pompton Lakes.
