Moderate Risk Issued for Southeast Tuesday
The SPC has issued a MODERATE RISK for parts of the Deep South on Tuesday. It's pretty rare for SPC to issue a Moderate Risk on Day 2, and it's unusual for one to be issued at all this time of year. Discussion is ongoing on the AccuWeather.com Forums.
I haven't looked at the models yet but Meteo Madness Man seemed pretty excited when he came into work this morning; he says on his blog:
What is astonishing to me this morning are the high dew points already soaring north into the southern Plains and the lower Tennessee Valley. It explains why we have so many thunderstorms already this morning across Kentucky into Tennessee and parts of Iowa. Basically, you are not going to throw warmth and humidity under a winter jet stream without bad things happening the next three days, and part of that will be tornadoes.
