Model Maps Turn to Snow for Northeast
The migration of the Forecast Models [JessePedia] from a rainstorm to a snowstorm in the Northeast this week has been remarkable. Only yesterday morning I was calling the GFS's prediction of snow with this storm "hype" but this morning most models are aligned with a solution that brings snow to New York City and Boston (of course these are the Weird Runs [JessePedia] -- I'll be curious to see how the 12Z runs look this afternoon). All maps from our Pro site.

Meteo Madness Man (PREMIUM | PRO) says the European model is on board as well. He also has these words of wisdom, which I echo:
From other forecasters, Elliot Abrams (PREMIUM | PRO) is just getting back from vacation so I'm curious what he will say... and AccuWeather.com Professional's Joe Bastardi [BIO] (PRO) predicts the models will disagree again before Saturday. AccuWeather.com Premium's Joe Lundberg (PREMIUM | PRO) explained in his blog yesterday exactly what features will come into play:
Our official forecast map says rain for the major cities but warns that there is the possibility of snow finding itself as far south as the mid-Atlantic states:
