Media Hypes NE Hurricane Threat
Finally, some media hype, months after our saying that the Northeastern United States (and New England) is overdue for a hurricane hit, major articles were released this week from CNBC and CBS (thanks to almost-always-alert blog reader Carl for the tips) and others.
Why the hype now? CBS explains:
We were talking weather; they're talking money. Along the lines of $200 billion in damage and lost business if the big one hits New Jersey (putting NYC in the RFQ), and economic impacts twice the 9/11 attacks, or three times Hurricane Katrina.
