MCS Eye Candy: Satellite Loops
We talked yesterday about the Mesoscale Convective System which was moving from the Plains to the Midwest (and what an MCS actually is). Turns out it wasn't alone. Some preceded it and another formed last night. I looked back in our archives from this week and pulled out several animations of other MCSs or large groupings of storms this week in the Midwest.
But first, a movie from AccuWeather.com RadarPlus(this is a large Quicktime movie, so give it a minute to load) showing last night's MCS morph into its current Medusa-like state with several lines of storms snaking out of it. HINT: Drag the Quicktime slider bar to see it move at maximum speed.
