Maybe-SubTropical Storm May Approach Islands
People keep asking why I haven't done my Hurricane 2007 Season Wrapup yet... and I keep saying hey, the season ain't over yet. Actually, that's not true, the season ended officilally on November 30th. If I would have said that, you could call me the Hurricane Psychic because we might just have one more storm forming out there. The NHC said in a statement this afternoon: "A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CENTERED OVER THE EASTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN HAS BEEN PRODUCING GALE-FORCE WINDS... AND IT COULD BECOME A SUBTROPICAL STORM LATER TODAY OR TOMORROW AS IT REMAINS NEARLY STATIONARY."

If this happens, it would be Subtropical Storm Pablo and would be the first December storm since Tropical Storm Zeta which formed December 30, 2005 at the end of a banner hurricane season (in fact it's forming in a similar area). Pablo 2007 would be only the second storm with that name, the first being Tropical Storm Pablo which formed in Hurricane Alley but dissipated before hitting the Leeward islands in October 1995.

But it's way out in the ocean, so who cares right? Well, the funny thing about Potential Pablo 2007 is that 3 out of 4 models in the Model Spread [JessePedia] indicate that the storm will move Southwest and could approach the Leeward Islands later this week!
