Maine Flooding Photos, Video
Way up in the northernmost reaches of Maine, 100-year flooding has been taking place. The Saint John River at Fort Kent (archived graph below) peaked at over 30 feet Thursday, blowing away the previous record of 27.3 feet and flood stage of 25.0 feet.
The Fish River at Fort Kent went way over major stage to nearly 14 feet - its previous record was 12.4 feet, with a flood stage of 11 feet.

VIDEO SCRIPT: More than 140 homes and business in parts of northern Maine are flooded Thursday (05/01). Heavy rains and record snowfall this winter has swollen several waterways including the Saint John River. It is now five feet above its flood stage. More than a thousand residents were forced to leave their homes and the International Bridge between the U.S. and Canada was closed after being overrun with water. About 100 state roads and dozens of local roads were shut down or had lanes closed. Maine's Governor John Baldacci declared a state of emergency Tuesday night (04/29) and requested aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency on Wednesday (04/30). The National Guard was also activated to provide assistance.
mainer2008 posted some good photos of the flooding as well, I present two of the best here:
The Associated Press has been on the case as well.
