July-Like Weather Wraps up May
I apologize for not blogging yesterday -- I thought I would but we ended up spending the entire day outside helping landscape our new house.
It was brutally hot and humid here in State College, in Central Pennsylvania. Some summers pass without a 90 degree temperature here, but I measured 90.5 yesterday around 4:00.
Across the eastern half of the United States, the story was similar. Minneapolis, Minnesota set a record high of 94 yesterday, blowing away their old record of 91. It was amongst 41 other record highs issued (through midnight) yesterday.
AccuWeather's forecast for State College today shows a high of 92, breaking our record of 90, with a RealFeel(tm) temperature of 104. Already at 8:30 a.m. our weather station is already reading 77 degrees with 72 percent humidity.
8 AM TEMPERATURES
In fact, many stations reporting in from the Midwest and Northeast are in the mid 70's this morning. And the dogs (for example the one in the car in front of me this morning on the way to work) are already panting.
Welcome to summer.
