July 4th Severe Report, Thursday Outbreak
Yesterday's severe weather outbreak was disappointing for severe weather enthusiasts in Pennsylvania, but on the good side, no one enjoying outside festivities was harmed by the weather. The StormMatrix reports that only one tornado and one funnel cloud was reported, along with hail reports as large as 1.75" diameter, all clustered north of Washington, D.C. and associated with supercell thunderstorms passing by to their north (download radar animation).
Today, The SPC [JessePedia] says that much of the Northeast is in a Slight Risk for severe storms again, this time including southern New York State.
