Isolated Snow Problems in NY
I saw some snow pop up on the AccuWeather.com Snow/Ice/Radar radar this afternoon, but since radar doesn't report different types of precip, this radar is not 100% accurate, so I searched for snow observations from airports across the state. Sure enough, as the tail end of today's storm system exits the Northeast, there is some snow falling across New York state.

Both Fort Drum, NY and Watertown, off the eastern shore of Lake Ontario, were reporting snow at 2 PM Friday.
And even Wellsville, on the southern fringe of the state, has been reporting snow since the late morning. I believe this is the first frontal (non-lake-effect) snowfall in New York this Fall season; correct me if I'm wrong. Click here for a map of precipitation reports at 2 PM. That map, and this one, showing temperatures across the state, are avaialble in real-time from our AccuWeather.com Pro site.
Temperatures in the Watertown area are barely above freezing and heavy wet snow is forecast for the afternoon and evening; a Snow Advisory has been issued by the NWS [JessePedia] for the Watertown area, saying:
A Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect for the high elevations of northeast New York, where 2-4 inches of heavy wet snow may fall later tonight when temperatures drop below the freezing mark. The NWS adds:
Elliot Abrams (PREMIUM | PRO) says that more widespread snow showers and lake-effect snow are on the horizon for the state, along with other Great Lakes states and the Appalachians Sunday and Monday, as another round of winter air invades the Northeast.
