Think you're having a bad day?The Northern Star reports that Jeffrey Conyard's business in the town of Casino, Australia was damaged by severe lightning from a supercell thunderstorm in December, then it happened again yesterday. And they say lightning doesn't strike twice. In other Australian lightning news, ABC reports that storms cut power to many northern beach suburbs of Townsville and Thuingowa last night. The Townsville Bulletin says"The Townsville Bureau of Meteorology recorded 1474 lightning strikes in Townsville and Thuringowa in the two-hour period around midnight, stemming from a 'very active thunderstorm'."

News24 reports that three people were killed in the Congo (Central Africa) yesterday when lightning hit a funeral procession. That site notes that "The centre and east of DRCongo have been hit by violent storms in recent weeks as the rainy season has set in."The Democratic Republic of the Congo is in Central Africa.
The Swazi Observer reports that two women and a toddler were killed by lightning while walking home from a market. Swaziland is in Southern Africa.
