INT: Typhoon Krosa Damage, Big Wave Photos
Typhoon Krosa made landfall in China this morning, after 1.4 million people were evacuated from the country. Jim Andrews reports (PREMIUM | PRO) that winds up to 115 mph and rainfall to 11 inches were reported on an island. According to NASA's TRMM Satellite, over 4 inches of rain have fallen in the Shanghai area in the last 24 hours:
Blog reader Michael pointed out that CNN has a very impressive photo of a huge wave crashing ashore in Taiwan as Krosa made landfall there. The wave looks unusually high, but I think this other photo might explain it - the wave was crashing around a lighthouse. Below are a couple additional Associated Press* photos.
