INT: Bermuda - Canes on Both Sides
UPDATE: NASA has released this image of Florence just after she passed the island of Bermuda.
UDPATE: Tropical Depression #8 has just formed and is forecast to become a hurricane and approach... Can anybody guess? Anybody? Beuuuuuuller?
BERMUDA!
ORIGINAL POST:
Bermuda just suffered through the worst of Hurricane Florence (power outages and light damage -- see Royal Gazette, StormCarib and this blog) when her eye passed west of the island. This week, Tropical Storm Gordon will likely strengthen into a hurricane but will move past the island (for the most part) -- this time to the east!
To quote from our Weather Headlines (PREMIUM | PRO):
Gordon is currently in an area where the water is warm and the upper-level winds are favorable for further development. Although there is an area of dry air off to the northeast that could work into Gordon, which would inhibit strengthening, the odds are that Gordon will become the third hurricane of the 2006 Atlantic Hurricane Season by tomorrow.
