Insurer Cancels NY Hurr. Policies
This article tells of Joe Bastardi's forecast (that the Northeast is overdue for a hurricane hit) then explains how some insurance companies are cancelling (not renewing) policies in areas of New York State which are considered hurricane prone.
Coincidence? Allstate's action apparently happened on April 23, 2006, while Joe's initial warning of the New England hit took place the month before, on March 20th. Food for thought.
Louisiana insurance claims from Katrina and Rita totaled $27.2 billion (source) and Mississippi had $15 billion in claims from Katrina (source).
