Incredible Snowfall Totals: West, NY
UPDATE: The amounts below have been updated, including 146 inches at Redfield, NY. The radar animations uploaded last week have also been updated. Some of them are now 12-day animations!
The incredible snowfall reports continue from the New York lake-effect event. I'll see if I can extend those radar loops that I had, Monday morning.
REDFIELD: 146" (12.16 FEET!)
PARISH: 115"
MEXICO: 103"
NORTH OSCEOLA: 99"
SCRIBA: 94"
OSWEGO CITY: 85"
MINETTO: 74"
EAST OSWEGO: 74"
WEST MONROE: 65"
PULASKI: 59"
Note that, although a lot of snow has fallen in the last 10 days, it has compressed itself and most locations do not have more than 5 feet (60") on the ground. The reports from the last 12 hours of ground totals are as follows:
NORTH OSCEOLA: 52"
MEXICO: 47"
EAST OSWEGO: 33"
Below is a copy of a snow-depth map from NOAA [JessePedia] for yesterday which confirms that "on ground" amounts are much less than the 10-day totals.
Also some impressive snow totals from this week's storm out West, with up to 4 feet (48 inches) in the California mountains. Amounts over 2 feet shown below with 24-hour accumulation in parentheses.
