IGAR Strikes Again For Tornadoes
In the spirit of Carl's "I Got A Rock (IGAR)" series of posts (FAQ), pointing out that we often get "the shaft" with regards to snowstorms, let me point out that this "weather shield" also extends to severe weather. Take for example the Storm Prediction Center's tornado forecast for today.
There is a 10% chance of a tornado over the Ohio Valley (that doesn't sound like much but in reality any tornado risk over 1% means big bad severe weather). And there is a 10% chance of a tornado in Eastern Pennsylvania. But here in Happy Valley, we have a near 0% chance of a tornado today. So if Henry and I go chasing, we'll pretty much head in any direction out of town.
