Hype: S. Plains Snow, Late NE Storm
UPDATE: The 12Z GFS is now has swung back to saying snow from Kentucky through the mid-Atlantic on the 12th, and says that the Southern Plains snow won't happen south of northern Oklahoma on the 11th (it's the same storm that will affect the Ohio Valley the next day). After that, there's not much GFS hype.
ORIGINAL MORNING POST, BASED ON THE OVERNIGHT (6Z) GFS:
The Forecast Models [JessePedia] are starting to pick up on a potential snowstorm for the Southern Plains next week, with snow reaching down to the Mexico border. The DGEX model is showing heavy snow in the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles on November 10th, moving east into central Oklahoma.
Light snow will reach down to Mexico on the 11th, according to the GFS, with moderate snow in Kansas and northern Oklahoma in the morning, but then will change to rain south of Nebraska during the day.
The GFS has been back and forth on this snowstorm in Kentucky and the mid-Atlantic on November 12th. The timing is still the same but the GFS is back to rain now.
The GFS is also talking about another snow storm in the Southern Plains on Day 15 which is November 19th, but Day 15 snow storms are a dime a dozen on the GFS this time of year.
