HYPE: DGEX Shows Southern App. Snow

The latest run of the DGEX model shows elevation-induced snow in the southwest Virginia and North Carolina mountains when the next big frontal system comes through, in the middle of next week. This model has the resolution and topography-awareness to pick out these situations, while something like the GFS would ignore them.

PROGRAMMING NOTE: I am out sick today so blogging may be slow. I shall return to the office on Friday and Saturday.
