NASA: TROPICAL DEPRESSION ONE AT SUNRISE
Saturday night, AccuWeather.com Professional's Joe Bastardi wrote in his blog:
What Joe means by this is that the storm, which may not become a true Tropical storm, is a "hybrid" of tropical and subtropical systems, is going to drop heavy rain and high winds no matter what the classification.

This explains the latest model spread map above which shows some models deviating to the west. This separation of systems is not unlike what happened to Hurricane Ivan last year, which its circulation center stealthily moved off the East Coast and back into the Gulf of Mexico.
