Hurricanes: Hostile Energy Takeover
This is pretty scientific, but a couple of eggheads at Johns Hopkins University have determined that hurricanes and large ocean eddies get their energy by stretching the energy out of smaller vortices. Rather than previous theories which assumed a business-like "combining of assets", this is described as the "hostile takeover" theory.
