Houston Tops 15 Inches
Another 6 to 10 inches of rain doused southeasternmost Texas and central Louisiana yesterday afternoon and overnight. The heaviest rain stayed northeast of Houston this time but one gauge in the HCOEM's network did tip over 15 inches for a 7-day total (see map). KPLC-TV in Lake Charles has an article about the flooding there yesterday.
You can see the state-level Doppler Estimated 24-Hour Precipitation Map above. As always, I have also provided additional state composites and the individual Doppler site estimates for your viewing pleasure. I'll update all those graphics later today because rain is still falling there this morning, at rates of up to 2.5" per hour.
Like the storm earlier this week, it will continue to spread significant rainfall norhteastward through New England today and tomorrow.
