Hi-Res Maps Show Arthur Battering Carolina Coast
Meteorologically, Hurricane Arthur is a beautiful storm -- almost a textbook example of a hurricane, especially when the right color palettes are applied. To the public, though, he is a threat to lives and property, and the spoiler of July Fourth vacation plans. In this blog, I'll concentrate on the former. The latest track and impacts from the storm can be found in our AccuWeather.com coverage. Here's a shot from around 9 AM:

By 2 p.m., Hurricane Arthur had 90-mph winds and was threatening to go higher. A very impressive eye on Visible Satellite, Radar and 3-D Radar. This close to the coast, I'm impressed it's able to maintain its shape.
