Heavy Snow in West, Also Lakes
Some impressive snowfall amounts have been observed during the last few days. And winter doesn't start until this afternoon!
Quickly before I move to the West... Intense lake-effect snow has continued in localized areas of New York State.
North Osceola, New York claims 14 inches of snow in the last couple of days, with 5 inches in 3 hours and 43 inches on the ground. Warsaw, NY also received 10 inches of snow in 6 hours today.
In Colorado and Utah, the snow that fell between the weekend and today, is being measured in feet. The image below shows liquid-equivalent (melted) amounts, but the purple areas approximately outline more than one foot of snow in 24 hours.
