Heat Wave: 130 Deg., 500 Records Set

ORIGINAL POST: Here's a summary of this week's record-breaking heat wave as of Friday morning.
NOTE: The list below was previously published yesterday. The bar for temperatures has been raised due to the number of stations; by Friday there were literally too many stations to list over 103 degrees, for example, so the cutoff was raised to 105.
NOTE: THIS LIST HAS BEEN SUPERCEDED BY A NEWER ONE. SOME INFO BELOW IS INCORRECT.
TOTAL RECORDS BROKEN: A total of 534 high temperature records were tied (203) or broken (331) between Monday and Thursday.
HOTTEST DAY EVER: Greenville, South Carolina tied their all-time high temperature record of 104 degrees Wednesday, and set an all-time maximum low (overnight) record temperature of 76. 104 also tied the all-time record high at Charlotte, NC yesterday and Roanoke, VA set a new all-time maximum low at 79. Same thing for Wilmington, NC which only dipped to 83 degrees Thursday.
130-YEAR RECORDS BROKEN: Augusta, Georgia broke their daily record high from 1878 on Tuesday, reaching 104. Wilmington, NC tied their Wednesday record from 1879 at 98 degrees.
