GFS Cooks Me Up A Carolina Hurricane!
The GFS Forecast Model [JessePedia] has cooked up its first Atlantic hurricane of the mid-2007 season. It has it coming into Vacation Central near the border of the Carolinas, but a week too late for my trip. That's the 06Z Weird Run [JessePedia] but even last night's 00Z run had the storm, though off the mid-Atlantic coast. Of course, the GFS says a lot of crazy things 15-days out. But you never know... I did get lucky with Hurricane Alex in 2003.
AccuWeather.com Professional's Joe Bastardi [BIO] (PRO) said last night in his blog:
The SPC [JessePedia] also had the Carolinas in a possible Slight Risk on Saturday as of last night's forecast, so I might get lucky with some thunderstorms down there. Make no mistake, if I see anything impressive weather-wise, I'll post photos here.
