Gabrielle Now Tropical But Still Boring
At 5 PM this Saturday, The NHC [JessePedia] has removed the "Sub" from Tropical Storm Gabrielle's name. As you may recall from Subtropical Storm Andrea, "Subtropical" is a term used by The NHC [JessePedia] uses with for describing a hybrid storm, that has some tropical characteristics and some features that you'd normally find in your run-of-the-mill low pressure system.
Personally, I'm not excited about this storm meteorologically, and Henry (PREMIUM | PRO) and even AccuWeather.com Professional's Joe Bastardi [BIO] (PRO) have started to say that strengthening to a Hurricane is not likely before she makes landfall. I'll give you some buoy, radar and satellite links below but frankly I'm not expecting much out of this one and I'm moving on to other topics. According to the latest Model Spread [JessePedia], she's going to quickly move off to the Northeast.
