Freezing in Florida for Valentines
It's freezing in Florida for Valentine's Day. The temperature in central Florida this morning bottomed out at 21 degrees at Ocala (map).
Temperatures around the rest of the state were in the 20s and 30s in the north, with 40s down south. Even Miami was at a chilly 44, with Key West at 51. (Let me check on what the record lows are for those stations and get back to you a little later this morning).
This is the second day of unusually cold air in Florida. News stories came out yesterday morning about damaged crops in the state, and no doubt there will be many more reports today.
The following records were set or tied yesterday:
Fort Lauderdale - Record Minimum High (58)
Naples - Record Minimum High (56)
Miami Beach - Record Minimum High (58)
Vero Beach - Record Low Tied (34)
Daytona Beach - Record Low (32)
UPDATE: No records were set on Valentine's Day.
