Four Struck by Lightning at Biltmore

The Asheville Citizen Times and others reporting 4 tourists were injured, 2 critically, at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC by a lightning strike this afternoon around 3:30 pm.

As you can see from the radar animation, the storm was weak and not moving directly over the Estate, which may have fooled park representatives and tourists with sparse lightning.

This hits close to home for me because I've been to the tourist attraction a couple of times, being from North Carolina, and ironically would have planned to bring my Yankee family to see it at the end of July this year, had our yearly NC vacation not been cancelled by a new house purchase.
