Flooding Rain in Kansas

There was heavy rain in Kansas today, and in fact much of the eastern two-thirds of the nation received some rain (see Doppler-estimated map). It was the first time in a while, and offered some relief for the drought-stricken areas.

Google News has 4 stories about the Kansas rain. Doppler estimates showed over 5 inches in some locations southwest of Salina. RadarPlus has a zoomed image showing the maximum amount as reported by the Wichita radar.
