Final Snow List, Photos for Midwest, Northeast
UPDATE: Here are some maps showing the snowfall coverage and amounts. This first one shows the approximate snow reports from the entire storm (although there is some lake-effect in NY). NOTES: 1. These maps do not include most of the highest amounts posted in the list below. 2.) I would ignore the gray circles as these represent reports of "0" which were probably really "Not Available".

This next image, from yesterday morning, shows the 24-hour change in Snow Depth as estimated by satellites and observations. This should, in theory, represent snowfall during that time period, but it may not.
This Visible Satellite image (with exaggerated contrast) from NASA shows the snow in North Carolina and Southern Virginia, and in Delaware. West Virginia it's hard to tell because there are clouds there. You can see the eastern extent of the snow in the Appalachians, NY, CT and MA but there are some clouds in the western part of the image, especially in West Virginia. Below are the final snowfall amounts from the Midwest / East Coast winter storm, highest per state as reported by The NWS [JessePedia]Spotter Reports (black), our SnowMatrix
, and SkiReport.com
. Reports are storm totals except for SkiReport which is 72-hour. This does not include COOP reports from this morning. Live snow photos from the AccuWeather.com Weather Photo Gallery are shown at right.
