Final Northeast Rainfall Totals
Above is shown a 7-day precipitation estimate from Doppler radar, which is probably not too far from reality, because it counts not only this flooding rain event but most of the previous one.
Here is a list of record rainfall reports issued by the National Weather Service between Thursday and Sunday. Notice that many of these reports are for record monthly rainfalls, as well as daily. A total of 42 reports were issued.
Added to the reports from the previous storm, over 100 record reports have been issued for record rainfall in the last two weeks.
The following is a list of rainfall amounts over 14 inches, as reported by the government from the October 12 - October 15 flooding event (references from this blog: October 13th, October 14th, October 15th). A complete list (containing of dozens of reports) is available here. A list from the previous (Oct. 7 - Oct. 10) event can be obtained here.
