Extremely Low Pressure Last Night
The following extremely low pressure readings were recorded Tuesday evening with the large low pressure system that intensified in Maine and southeast Canada (as predicted by major computer models last week):
POINTE DES MONTS, QC CANADA: 28.52" (966 mb)
KPQI PRESQUE ISLE, ME: 28.55" (GRAPH)
AMQUI, QC CANADA: 28.55"
BAIE COMEAU, QC CANADA: 28.56"
ST LEONARD, NS, CANADA: 28.58"
KHUL HOULTON, ME: 28.59"

06Z GFS FORECAST (<970 mb)
Since the storm intensified over land, buoy pressure readings were higher than the above. However, buoy 44024 off the coast of Maine registered waves over 35 feet high before falling silent. Amateur weather stations in Washington County Maine reported wind gusts to 72 and 74 mph. Mount Washington, NH (home of the world's worst weather) experienced their lowest pressure readings in a year and reported a wind gust of 84 mph while the temperature was 7 degrees.
