Extreme Dew Points in Mid-Atlantic, PA
In the video blog below I make use of the MESOWEST (The Government Mesonet) to show you some of the maximum dew points this afternoon from official, and unofficial stations. The highest that I saw officially was 77 at the Louisa County Airport in Virginia. Dew point sensors, of course, are historically prone to inaccuracies, but given the large number of readings in the mid-70's on the East Coast today, I find this reading believable. Dew points in the mid 70s are rare on the East Coast; all-time records are in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
Here also is a map of dew points from the NWS's RTMA (Real-Time Mesoscale Analysis) model, which estimates conditions based on all available data. Even it shows dew points over 75 in several locations.
